How ARTpath Supports the Ontario Arts Curriculum

ARTpath programs inspire students to explore and express themselves creatively through hands-on, experiential learning. Activities engage students to create, share, and celebrate their experience while developing essential skills like self-expression, critical thinking, emotional regulation and cognitive development, all in alignment with the objectives of the Ontario Arts Curriculum.

Overview of the Ontario Arts Curriculum

The Power of Arts in Education

The Ontario Arts Curriculum emphasizes the importance of arts education in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and emotional growth. I integrate the core principles of this curriculum to help students develop their wellbeing and foster a deeper sense of belonging for academic and personal success.

Exploring the Four Key Strands

The Ontario Arts Curriculum is structured around four key strands: Creating and Presenting, Reflecting, Responding, and Analyzing. I align its programming to develop each of these areas through hands-on activities, ensuring students are engaged in every aspect of their development journey.

Express, Create, Reflect

By focusing on creating and presenting, students learn how to express themselves through a variety of interprations of art forms, fostering confidence and emotional growth. Through reflection and response, they gain insight into their work and connect with their emotions and others.

Inclusivity in the Arts

Programs are designed to meet the needs of all learners, supporting students at different developmental levels. Aligned with the Ontario Arts Curriculum, our workshops provide opportunities for students to explore and express their unique perspectives, promoting inclusivity and personal growth.

After completing an ARTpath workshop, students will have developed:

  • Stronger emotional regulation

  • Enhanced communication skills

  • A deeper sense of self-expression

  • Improved ability to collaborate with peers and nurture friendships.
